CITRIC ACID (ANHYDROUS) RECIPE INSPIRATION
Beautifying Rose Milk Bath Bombs
1 c baking soda
c citric acid
c cornstarch or arrowroot powder
c powdered milk
3 T Epsom salt
dried rose petals
1 tsp water or rose floral water
3 -4 tsp almond oil
15 - 20 drops rose oil
Whisk the dry ingredients and the rose petals together in a bowl. In a separate bowl mix the wet ingredients together, then slowly add the liquid to the dry ingredients, whisking as you go. If the mixture holds its shape when squeezed together it is ready, otherwise if not, use a spray bottle of water to spray once or twice to moisten the mixture. Don't spray too much or it will fizz. Press the mixture into molds and leave to dry overnight. View more of our bath bomb recipes on our blog.
INGREDIENTS & QUALITY ASSURANCE
Citric acid (Acidum citricum) anhydrous, GMO-free.
Our citric acid is produced through fermentation using Aspergillus niger (black mould), a widely adopted and efficient method in the industry. We understand that the use of Aspergillus niger might raise concerns about mycotoxins, but rest assured that citric acid undergoes a rigorous purification process. This ensures the final product is completely free from mould, mycotoxins, heavy metals, or other unwanted contaminants.
The high level of purification is why regulatory authorities like the FDA and EFSA classify fermentation-derived citric acid as safe for use in food, cosmetics, and pharmaceuticals. It also meets stringent food-grade certification standards, making it a reliable choice for a wide range of applications.
The fermentation process typically uses renewable plant-based by-products, such as molasses or corn-derived sugars, as substrates. By utilising these renewable resources instead of petroleum-derived materials, the production method supports more environmentally conscious and sustainable manufacturing practices.
We work exclusively with trusted suppliers who adhere to the highest industry standards. Choose our citric acid with confidence for your DIY formulations, knowing it is safe, of the highest quality, and backed by documentation verifying its purity and safety.
